Onkyo HT-S6200 Home Theater
Owning a home theater offers a great experience for music, videos, and television. It makes you feel as though you are in a large theater without all the other people around and more comfortable seats. The Onkyo HT-S6200 Home Theater is one product you might consider when shopping. This review is designed to give you the most important features and other helpful information. The home theater system sells for $500 to $700 depending on where you find it and whether you buy it new. It has been on the market for a couple of years.
It offers a 7.1 channel receiver with a speaker package and dock for the iPod. It uses 130 Watts per channel at 6 ohms. It also has DTS HD Master Audio, DTS HD High Resolution Audio and DTS HD Express. Onkyo offers Dolby sound with True HD, Digital Plus, and Pro Logic. It offers a powered Zone 2 line out for playback in another room when required. It also offers a USB port for a single cable connection with the iPod. One advantage of the entire line up is that it is affordable. There are numerous high end stereos out there that are more than $1000, but this one offers high quality sound at a decent price.
The downside of the Onkyo HT S6200 is a lack of up conversion. It cannot convert to 1080p nor will it convert from analog to digital. If you have older components in your home it will not be compatible. Instead you would have to use the TV for the connection rather than HDMI. You can convert the older products to an HDMI cable, but this doesn't work as well for sound quality. Overall, this system is not the top product on the market as newer generations have been created. Yet, it is affordable and offers top audio.
